MSPF -- Crappy Poem Thread

Come one, come all,
to yous who receive this clarion call–
time to get your poetry bowels moving
lean into your versificated grooving;
it be, yes it be – it be behooving
upon your fat ace, to embrace the face
of celebration - of a summer magic
in this lavatorial place.

Foamed from bourbon, Ducolax or beer,
spill it on paper, post it here -
post without shame, post without fear
without hesitancy or constipation
post without honor, post without dread-
to this Mid-Summer iteration
of the [eternal] Crappy Poem Thread

[excerpts from prior renditions of CPT]

 Harketh Ye!

This thread again arises
on voices of soaring shame
to trumpet verses putrid
for authors to dodge their blame,
to shriek for all who post here
from the megaphone a crappy cry!
To once again itself proclaim –
A thread too tough to die!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

O crap is good & good is crap
and ‘ner the twine shall meat
don’t come here with stiff siff fine
and think you can compete.

If thoughts is fresh and words is right
then into the trash it should goes
‘cause here the only stuff that scores
is the doggerel that really blows.

And
cliches.

Scrapped from Twenty and Four

Living dangerously in the '70s
we sat in the back of pickup trucks without seatbelts
cell phones hadn't been invented

I refuse to put my name on this.

Time to cruise --
where are you Muse?
No time to tease.
Come out please,
Have some cheese. . . .
bring your magic here,
you know my fear--
my keyboard will freeze!
Geez. . . .

If you think that was funny
I got more for your money
So don't get nice and chummy
Give, chump, more milk and honey

I'll lead you to the water
unleash you from your halter
dollars are all that matter
a price in this backwater

So get back in the saddle
from the creek with no paddle
shake off brain cramps and addle
pay for this crappy poem

Lost, lost, all is lost
no one knows my pain.
All is lies and limbo
messing with my brain.
I shall cry a sea of tears
'ere I sleep again
and although the sun may shine
in my heart it rains.

(OK the gauntlet is down--beat this you pikers)

Democratic Debates

A country awaits
watches debates
They want to drop, Trump
like taking a dump.
They all speak of health
and taxing of wealth.
Folks call the democrats
the country's aristocrats.
The arguments fester
while candidates pester
each other on stage.
Cut down your neighbor
that's all the rage.

For those of you who love us proser posers. ;)

The Trump Challenge

“Name it, give me a subject to write about.”
I hear, “Trump from the middle,
no bias.”

You bastard!
“Are you frigging kidding me?’
Reluctant and begrudgingly, I accept.

He’ll lower taxes.
For a while,
then we’ll pay for the rich to get richer.

He’ll build a wall so our taxes won’t be wasted on illegal’s health care.
But it’ll cost us a fortune and they tunnel under
or swim around the stupid wall.

He tells it like it is, “Lock her up!” “Send her back.”
Yes, if divisive tells it like it is,
he does it well without actually saying the words.

“Global warming is a hoax!”
Tell that to the people living in the Maldives
and the fishermen ‘round the world.

The Mueller probe is a witch hunt.
But the fact remains, the Russians helped him win.
He’ll win again because the days of fair elections are long gone.

Or did they exist at all?
I give up. I can’t see that man from the middle
Does that make me a Liberal?

Don't know how I missed this, Indar. I should have greeted you earlier. Odd, this sounds vaguely familiar. :D :D

Plaque Attack
cheryl12

so I’m flossing my teeth
a generally mindless activity
allowing ideas to get a toe hold
in my discombobulated attic
when this metaphor comes to mind
about flossing plaque from between my dentals
and flossing it away
from my beleaguered dendrites
rasp abrade scrape scrape scrape
and and and
ow ouch and ay-ay-ay
double trouble
painful parallel
must not go there
will brush away
those pesky cobwebs
gently comb my teeth
