Time is short - thus short was the effort put into this poem.

One of Those Days

Our power company, in its industrious haste
is upgrading the lines
to lay our cash to waste,
capitalize, and serve their petty fines.

I woke up to no energy
in my house or beneath my skin.
Must be the full moon’s synergy
as it awaits the howling to begin.

“The Audi has a blown radiator”
was the urgent call from whence I awoke.
You could’ve dropped a mammoth crater,
Lord, I wish this was a joke.

“No flatbeds until tomorrow to tow your car away.”
We’ll rendezvous at seven-thirty.
“I have a funeral to attend, please be on time,” I say.
Mounting stress, I will not worry.

Speaking of funerals

“I refuse to go to mine”
said my youngest with a grin.
“I want to be planted in a tree seed pod.”

He isn’t allowed to die before me.
“Accidents happen.”
Well, don’t have any accidents!

He laughs at me
but it isn’t funny.
I already have tons of pain from which to draw.

Geeze, Tracy! You've been busy creating a lot of enjoyable verse and evoking so many images and feelings. I can hardly keep up.
