Aimé

I followed the YouTube link to "Aimé Duclos - The Kitchen Table Series". But definitely a male voice there.  Some interesting stuff though.  Will go back and listen to a few more later.

Gyppo

Gyppo -- you know AJDuclos is a male, right? Another Frenchman -- Marcel's brother. Songster, lyricist. Bob Dylan once described himself a just a song 'n dance man, a set of knee-symbols away from being a one-man band. I don't know what Aimé's position on this may be. :D :D
But I know his history is music rather than the written or spoken word..
Such a fun thread... another Frenchman, mais oui !!!!!  I'm a lyricist wannabe first, musician a distant second and a singer from way out in left field.  Some prose writing, delivered some toasts and roasts and eulogies... mostly I write and play and sing for me... not really a performer.  Recording at the kitchen table with a microphone and my laptop affords me a outlet of sorts.
So, for the moment, this Frenchman bids you Adieu !!!
Aimé

4/13 poem

Another April 13 in Minnesota

After the sun melts,
I meet your featured hands—

a finger touches me,
gazes calm us.

Day 13

This Frenchman quotes Monty Python:  "and now for something completely different"

Hubris

With certainty and
lack of empathy

much entitlement
little enlightenment

careless arrogance
self-importance

sober     besotted

C'est Moi

Where the apple dropped

Gorgeous picture, Sharon.

You triggered memories of my best friend's Mother, sat in her sewing room.  I feel a poem coming on ;-)  Thank you.

Gyppo
I've been writing ever since I realised I could.  Storytelling since I started talking.  Poetry however comes and goes  ;-)

Triolet 13

Outside on the street in the rain
We are one      undeniably one.
We're the same when our hearts are in pain
Outside on the street in the rain.
In the light in the dark we're the same.
Ignore the games to be won.
Outside on the street in the rain
We are one      undeniably one.

Well this is still going strongly - Gyppo love Session Man, Adjuclos your Darling was very moving, Colm, your last one very intense, Tom a Wonderful Poem 12 and Indar you never write a wrong line. Vaughn 12 was tremendous, I could really relate to it.

13
I have to be good, or brilliant, better

than you; than millions of Chinese

whose burgeoning intellect threatens

to flood the world. I am mediocre.

No matter how hard I try, how many

books I read or teachers I ask

great inventions, the wonder drug,

a pirouette or triple flip or even

just getting to work before dawn

evade me. This world accelerates

as I slow down, refine my denials

until I swallow myself with a soft

plop!
You speak for many of us. I just plopped in my chair. Marcel

Nice reflective, Dave.

Marcel -- "undeniably one" -- cool stuff. :)

AJ -- :D :D

George - another nicely touched work.

Day 12

Touch someone
whose color
is not yours.

Invite him over,
share a Coors.

Hear his stories,
grieve his losses.

Celebrate his dreams.
Calm his fears.
awww, I really like this Vaughn..
What an openness in the opening stanza. This is oneness. Marcel

In unforgetable few words, you speak the essential. Marcel
