A Summer's Morn
She takes my hand
as only she can.
Her touch so warm
like a summer's morn.
There by my side
she becomes my guide.
I close my eyes
the outside world dies.
She keeps me safe
helps me stay strong.
My life's becoming a Love Song.
She dries my tears
laughs at my jokes.
She knows my fears
fills me with hope.
She keeps me safe
helps me stay strong.
Wrapping me in a Love Song.
Uses words that soothe
calms me with her truth.
She's always there
keeps me in her care.
She keeps me safe
helps me stay strong
I'm living a Love Song.
She takes my hand
as only she can.
Her touch so warm
like a summer's morn.
AJ,
Thank you for sharing this. The song, the words, your voice all lovely. Truly sweet.
I have a steel string Gibson and a little Italian classical guitar. I broke a string, didn't have a spare, and somewhere along the line, I've let it drift out of my life. Haven't picked up either in years and I love the sound of a guitar - it's like a scent on my ears.
I truly appreciate homegrown music.
Thank goodness for modern technological guitar tuners or I would have never get mine tuned. I only know one chord and accidentally play by ear, badly, and I used to teach music as a consultant to elementary school kids. Ha! Hey, they had the money and faith in me so I ran with it. For someone who had only taken one guitar class at adult community college, I did some great things in my role as an elementary music teacher in the six, short months I had the gig.
Cheers!
