I sell, then make
memorials.
Strangers come,
their lost ones details
ink my order book,
eventually engraved.
Most are so nice,
apologise for their tears when I ask
for the date.
Today I was told
we were going to get on well, because
she liked my face!
His ashes still above the ground
suspended by her obvious grief.
We will meet several more times
to design something suitable,
a fitting memorial
she will
trust me to provide.

Re: Contracts
Colm is back! Welcome back Colm! You might have noticed things are a little dead around here---maybe you want to write a poem about that?
I don't know what's happened to some of the others arounfd here but I just can't get on board with any aspect of poetry just now.
Enjoyed yours as usual
should "ones" be possessive?
How are you? Have you looked at the founder's forum?

Nice one, Colm. Tender as death dealings can be... life must go on, til...........
"I sell, then make memorials" - wonderful.
Great to have you back - missed your death charm.

Re: Contracts
Like the connection and commitment in this Colm, the human links that do not have a monetary valuation, the value of trust.

Re: Contracts
Good to see you back Colm. A good, clear and human piece of writing. I enjoyed the care the poem took and the care those involved take with one another.
