snugly

Snugly

Bushy tail on a squirrel's nose, penguin sittin' on daddy's toes...
Fox kits snoozin' in their den, brown egg underneath a hen...
They might be cozy, but they can't compete with rumpled blankies and flannel sheets.

Snow-covered hive's 92 degrees in the home-y combs of honey bees.
Tulip bulbs in mid-December under leaves of late September...
They might be cozy, but they can't compete with rumpled blankies and flannel sheets.

Runnin' around in Grandpa's shirt, moles a-dozin' in the dirt...
Winter birds huddled in a nest, baby asleep at mama's breast...
They might be cozy, but... well...

Cheryl,
Your verse tickles the child in me while I see children of every age carried along by the imagery painted boldly by the internal rhyme. And the last line invites the reader to say it out loud with laughter. Wow. Marcel.

The cadence and rhymes in this poem are so endearing, as they dovetail so well with the story. My mind provides the illustrations as I read. :)

Love the perspective. Indeed the piece makes me wanna snuggle. Well, well done.
