Real Gods don’t need your belief
your piety your self flagellation
And I’m not talking Science because
that’s just sophisticated divination

No Real Gods chirp howl screech
bark banter crow ribbit sing belch
fart whisper signal serenade
or blossom flower or just grow 
and answer wishes and wants
With ‘Just so’ or if they’re fancy
‘Thus’ There ain’t no ‘secrets’
except for the ones 
you’ll never know
because Real Gods
blabber and die
if you listen
they’ll tell if
you don’t
its too
late.

 

Love the increasing cadence of this, the way it rolls off the tongue, building to the end, as the lines get shorter.
