April 2, Day Two

April Showers

Rain pounded down for days
and weeks, water ran in our street like a wild river.
Palms waved their fronds in exaltation,
Sweet allysum bounded over rock walls. African daisies
proliferated into a deep green/burnt orange blanket,
I walk into the abundance
horrified by their terrible mistake.

A summer of dry, blue skies is coming
and most of those newly emerged will die.
I can't help them,
California water will still be rationed.

Day two and we are still at it!

I was horrified! Nice local poem :) Though it may be a phenom which proliferates.
Cheers.

Just5 returned from CA, and appreciate the clear vision -- Like the annoyed their mistake. Good work.

Some contrast
Love the exuberance in S1, and have mixed feelings about S2 because we 'usually' get too much rain in Summer.
It's only a matter of time before they wash the scum from oil pipelines and start pumping (expensive) water thousands of kilometres.
Anywho, like this lots; and hope you have nice rains through the Summer.
