Horrific crime and horrific poem. Suitably disgusting in its portrayal of a disgusting episode. Whether it is accurate, it bring the certainly leaves a bad taste - not because it is a bad taste poem but because of its directness. I would not change anything.

Thank you all who've commented. Dave, I appreciate your acceptance of my premise (I think that's what you are saying) that there is something of the motivation of rapist/murderers involved in the act we all witnessed. Maybe because I am a woman I'd jump to such a conclusion. 

Beyond that, there is the thinking of two men who've shaped my attitude toward violence. I just went back and looked at the titles online of books that are as relevant today as when they were published. The first is by Rollo May. A look inside at the table of contents alone, courtesy of Amazon, is telling:

Not because of my write but because of the intensity of what these men describe I urge anyone who struggles to find understanding/meaning in current events to look into these well developed thoughts. I will have to go search my garage wall of badly organized booksheves to find my copies.[/font]
