When Persimmon Light will Glow. and Meander

Post by skylightgreg » Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:58 pm

I love
winter's
melon suns,
the way they
drip their
sweet perfumes
onto creme fraiche clouds,
soaking in the
ivory sponge
of winter.
just
the edges
of creme remain.
now a solid exterior for
persimmon
light
to glow
and
meander.

I can't tell you how much I like this poem. It feels good, and the craftsmanship is so strong, which no doubt helps the poem feel so very good.
I love the way it so casually glows and meanders through the senses--taste, sight, smell, and texture, and or course the motion of the poem.
Artful weaving, this.  And the images are crisp and fresh.

thank-you, Tracy.  I was just going through poems to keep for a collection to be included with other poets.  I'll mark this one a keeper.
