Greeting after a year's absence
Greetings all, I thank you for the invitation to participate according to my energy and ability. The site still sends shivers up and down my spine. I have the illusion that I am going to break something so visually pleasing. Irrational, I know; but the phobia persists. I will attempt to write a "sep...

Re: A found poem (with a few minor tweaks)
Colm, Tracy sent me to your Found Poem. I am pondering the brilliant insight and imagery of ". . . a single drop of clotted blood extracted from your mother's heart." Your poem dropped me into the archetypal world. Imagine if all the world religions, large and small, accepted that they have all ...

Hello After Absence
Hello After Absence
A web-site phobic oldie
dares a return trip,
after yearlong silence.
I found number FIVE
the one I liked the best.
Its shape, I guess.
Undaunted by the mountain winds,
prompted by a well-placed jab
I return a prodigal.

Re: Cheers from Qwerty
Tracy,
I agree that the challenge of free verse poetry demands an attention to poetics without the frame of prescribed meter and rhyme. Of course I have no scholarship to back this up, just a feeling. Now I wonder if I have placed this comment at the proper place.

Re: Cheers from Qwerty
Welcome, Qwerty -- Cheers to you too. Glad you found our site. A poetry tutor -- what a gift that may be. Am I right? Great quote from Frost. He is entitled to his opinion, but I disagree. He wrote marvelous poetry, and I am convinced he even dreamed in iambics. And the sounds of his New England ve...

Hello all!
Returning after a long absence. Gearing up for the April challenge. . . of course prodded by Tracy. I am an all-things-computer phobic. Please favor me with any and all remonstrances when I fumble my postings offside.

Re: True Story
Indar, I am daring to post in hope that I drop my offering in the appropriate bin. You remind us of what is a universal experience, this burying of precious things either in the earth or in in our hearts and both. Your use of simple words and images cuts to the heart and avoids a distancing sophisti...

Re: Crabgrass Receives a Reply
Thank you Indar, Tracy and aj. It took me so long to figure out how to post even after many tutorials. With things computer, I am still in the scriptorium fumbling with indigo ink and parchment hoping the brewer was successful with his last batch of mead. This poem was written in early March of las...
